Rangers charged over fan violence

BBC SPORT | Football | My Club | R | Rangers | Rangers charged over fan violence.

This is like a throwback to the glory days of 70’s Scottish football when the Huns, sorry Rangers, invariably ran amok bringing their own unique brand of sozzled violence to mainstream Europe. Lovely guys.

This of course follows on from their shameful behaviour after the UEFA Cup Final defeat in 2008 in Manchester. There was a time when Scottish football fans (eg Rangers) had a terrible reputation abroad but I thought we had turned that around. This is like a bad step backwards. Poor show.

The Glasgow club’s supporters were involved in half-time scuffles at the match against Unirea Urziceni at Ghencea Stadium in Bucharest.

Fans were seen on TV destroying seats and challenging match stewards during the 1-1 draw on Wednesday.
