Alloa 1 Aberdeen 2

Miller v Alloa Jan 2009
That was close, too close for comfort and pre-match I could sense another Stenhousemuir or Queens Park humiliation. An early goal gave us a lift and a platform from which we should have gone on to win comfortably but oh no…that would be too simple so let's give them a penalty just before half-time and make a real cup-tie of it.

Second half we started well, scored a second and again that should have been it but Alloa came right back into it, had lots of the ball but never really came close to equalizing. They deserve a lot more credit than we do for scraping a win, we were hanging on at the end which is not want you want to see. Our keeper had one of his poorer games and seemed unable to catch anything lofted in from the wings necessitating a couple ofunseemly goalmouth scrambles…all very undignified for a Premier team.

Onto the 4th round then and no doubt to our annual away tie at Tannadice.
